We published the General Conditions of Recognition and the Recognition Criteria on 16th May 2011. The conditions came into effect on 18th July 2011.
These frequently asked questions should help awarding organisations develop their understanding of the regulatory requirements.
The recognition conditions do not tell an awarding organisation how it should operate. This is deliberate. Each awarding organisation knows best what works and what doesn’t work well for it. The conditions specify what awarding organisations must achieve, not how they should achieve what is specified. We do not therefore set out in the answers to the questions how awarding organisations should set about complying with the conditions.
Any further questions should be emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We will update the frequently asked questions section of our website to answer any further questions received. In this way all awarding organisations can see the answers given. We will not, therefore, respond individually to the questions submitted to this email address.
