First teaching of new two-year linear GCSE courses of study for qualifications in June 2014. First teaching of new GCSE geography qualifications.

November 2012 GCSE units available as in November 2011 but entry restricted to students entering awards no later than autumn 2013.*
January 2013 GCSE units available as in January 2012 but entry restricted to students entering awards no later than autumn 2013.*

External assessments for English literature, geography, history and religious studies will include additional marks for spelling, punctuation and the accurate use of grammar.
